The learner’s licence test has three sections, and you must pass each section on its own. A high score in one section cannot make up for a low score in another.
The allocation of questions and the pass marks may change from time to time, so confirm them with your driving licence testing centre (DLTC) when you book. The test normally consists of 64 questions:
| Section | Total questions | Correct answers needed | Pass percentage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rules of the road | 28 | 22 | 79% |
| Road signs, signals and markings | 28 | 23 | 82% |
| Controls of the vehicle | 8 | 6 | 75% |
| Total | 64 |
To check that you are ready, sit the K53TestsOnline mock exam. It uses the same split of 8, 28 and 28 questions and shows your score for each section against its pass mark.
